Limitations of the Demonstration Version
The demo comes with only one cookbook and a limited number of recipes; you cannot create new cookbooks or save recipes. In addition, certain features are disabled, such as Import Recipes and the Recipe E-Mailer.
About MasterCook
MasterCook is a cooking program that combines recipe management and nutrition analysis in one easy-to-use application. Besides giving you the ability to store and retrieve your favorite recipes instantly, MasterCook scales recipes for any number of servings (up to 999), generates shopping lists, lets you create menus and meal plans, and provides detailed nutritional analyses for your recipes.
Other features include an online cooking glossary of almost 550 items; a nutrition database of over 5000 food items that can be expanded to include 900 additional user-specified items; a wine list manager; and a glossary of yields and equivalents, ingredient substitutions, and spices.
For the Internet user, MasterCook has a built-in E-mailer which uses a TCP/IP connection to send recipes in e-mail over the Internet. MasterCook also has the ability to import recipes from many different formats, including export files from other software packages. MasterCook for Macintosh is 100% compatible with MasterCook for Windows, making it easy for you to exchange recipes with friends and relatives, regardless of what type of computer they use.
MasterCook is available on both 3.5" disk for both Windows and Macintosh. MasterCook Deluxe, available only on CD-ROM, includes all the same features as MasterCook plus recipes from the California Culinary Academy series of cookbooks, complete with beautiful high-resolution pictures.
